@Sky+Q+hub  How did you cancel?   Did you receive any confirmation?  Replying to an email isn't a canc ellation as Sky dont accept cancellations via this route.

You will need to call Sky or use the following link https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv#contact-leave

On the link provided (In the UK) it should include a Message Us option between 0900-1930.

You can also call on 150 from a Sky Mobile or Sky Talk line

If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
(UK) https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number
(ROI) on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Apparently the quieter times to ring are just after 7am or about 9pm.

If you don't see the Contact options on the link above make sure java script is enabled on your browser.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Sky+Q+hub

First thing you need to do is reactivate your payment method and pay anything Sky say you owe. Just cancelling a payment method will just cause you more problems.

Then,

to cancel Sky Broadband and Sky Talk totally, or if you’re moving to a provider like Virgin Media or City Fibre etc who don’t use the Openreach set up, you'll have to contact Sky and give the required notice of 14 days, but if you are still in the initial 18 months deal Sky could impose cancellation charges. This link may help https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-broadband

If you are changing to another provider who also uses the Openreach infrastructure then join up with them and they should contact Sky on your behalf.

Return packaging will be sent out to you near the end of the notice period. Remember to keep any proof of posting indefinitely.

Re: Cancel contract with Sky

I have just tried the same thing as I am coming to the end of my SkyQ deal. We will see if I have the same experience.

I want to look at streaming alternatives, perhaps even Sky's own streaming service, something with 4k maybe, but it is so hard to cancel the existing Sky contract in the end I just said be done with it and cancelled completely.

That's because of the 31 days notice. I don't know how these cancellation terms are legal.

Why wouldn't they be? Not least because you agreed them.

Re: Cancel contract with Sky

You don't have a choice but to agree. I assume they are legal, but that doesn't mean they are morally right. These making it easy to join hard to leave strategies are more lile the tactics of dodgey dealers, not a respected media company.

If you provide costomers with a service they value, you will retain them, no need for a difficult cancellation process. This is all about making it difficult to leave. I have come across elderly relatives paying £80 a month for a service they didn't use, or even know they had.

If you don't like the T&C, don't sign up. Look for an alternative provider. You always have a choice.
