Billing charge incorrect

I recently joined Sky, but this month's bill was more expensive (double the original contract price) than what I signed up for and I did not receive a bill so I can not see an explanation for it. Need help

If you’re a new customer your first couple of bills are usually higher, basically due to the dates they cover (more than the usual number of days). In effect you’ll be charged from the date of the activation up until the end of that billed month, and for the next month in advance. Check your future bills to see if they reflect the amount you were expecting. Also see these links

Very strange system...but I'm not surprised it was not straightforward.

If you think about it, it's inevitable. You pay from the date your services start, but as Sky (and most, if not all other providers) require to pay a month in advance, it's inevitable that at some point you have to 'catch up'.
