Hi there I was told I would t get cut off and could pay outstanding balance on the 16th off this month

What you have been told it is incorrect as the billing is automatic so if a bill hasn't been paid for whatever reason your services are suspended until you pay what you owe in full and set back up your payment method.

 

Sky do not and have never done promises to pay.

@Jamesm_42 it's an automated process, as @caesarome posted, but if that's what you were told, I'd suggest contacting Sky again to complain. You might need to use their social media to contact them, as you're unlikely to get through on the phone.
