@Darren121

As this is a customer support forum we can't refund anything.

When you cancelled did you get email confirmation of your cancellation request, if not you will need to call Sky to speak to them about this and when you do stay on the line and remain silent when asked anything by the bot.

As we're a customer Community, nobody here can do that. Given that it's 7 months later, have you not spoken to Sky about it already?

Strange that you have aloud  this to go on for seven months  and you have not called  sky about this, you must have been checking  your bank account to notice this and that you have let it carry on have you checked  that you can not use any from sky that you say you cancelled  7 months  ago  ?

Did you  give the minimum  notice , did you get a confirmation email  saying  that your  subscription  would end on a set date ?

Why did you  not. close the direct debit  to sky, they would have sent you a cheque  by ? Would take a bit longer, if not refunds back by way of your  bank  by the way you paid your  account  take about six weeks  so it would have been paid by now

Also have you returned  any sky equipment, to do with  the subscription  that you say that you have cancelled eg sky q box, sky mini hub, sky router as you would have been asked  to return your sky equipment, and they  would have sent you return package  and a returns  label or two

@peter-marlow+1966  that scenario may have made things worse if the cancellation wasn't completed correctly, as not having the payment details would have led to the debt being passed over to a debt collection agency and the missed-payments affecting credit scores.

In a situation like this is surely always better to at least be in a position where Sky will refund the money ( thats if the customer followed the correct cancellation procedure), rather than having the negative affect of missed payments.

Re: Being charged by Sky

Thanks for the info.

in response rarely check bank statements so only checked 6 months to find that there was several months of sky direct debits going out.

I spoke with Sky yesterday, (who are blaming Virgin (the new supplier) saying they didn't inform them I left. (When signed up with Virgin they confirmed they would do all the transferring over and just needed to sign up) - in hindsight should have checked!

They are saying Virgin only informed them of the internet and not the TV package deals.

i posted the router and sky box back in the pre paid package box last October. Sky are now asking me for evidence that the router and  tv box were both in there and to provide photo evidence. They clearly were as moved house but wouldn't have throught to take pictures of inside of boxes prior to sending but supoose it's a life lesson now!.

Other providers can only transfer broadband services.

I find it disingenuous to state otherwise...  The customer always has to cancel TV services as other providers cannot do it currently.

The switching service only works with Broadband/Talk and not with the TV as it is up to you to cancel this yourself by giving the required notice.

...then your complaint is with VM if they actually stated something they cannot do.
