Just recieved details of sky's April 23 price increases and its appalling. The product itself is getting poorer every year and they have the cheek to raise sports package, broadband, talk, and other products. 17 yrs a customer and I've had enough, contracts aren't worth the paper there written on, everything suits sky... SO SKY THAT'S IT, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.. times are difficult but you don't seem to care, I'm leaving with I'm guessing thousands of others.

I was close to doing the same recently but negotiated a price I was happy with and looking forward to the F1 in UHD this weekend 🙂

This is primarily a customer helps customer forum. You aren’t addressing Sky Customer Services here.
There is an annual price increase in April just like previous years. You've agreed to this through your terms and conditions and all customers will be affected. Sky can increase prices once in any 12 month period. Your contract is not a fixed price but your discounts are.

You freely agreed your contract with Sky, so presumably you were happy with it then. It spells out that there's an annual price increase, and with inflation at around 10%, the amount of the increase shouldn't have come as much of a surprise.

(removed) to be fair, the product is getting poorer and the price is getting higher.... I've always known sky put prices up in April, don't need sky employees to post the obvious, the paying public will walk away.. Sky's bubble is going to burst.. They are ripping loyal customers off with a very average content IMHO.

I've no doubt Sky know more vastly about likely customer attrition than you or I do from their years of experience of subscription charges.
Obviously if you don't think Sky offers value for money, you have the ultimate sanction.

Sky should offer contracts that run from April to April... When they hike prices in April customers can say yes or no. What I don't like with sky is how they package contracts over longer periods and ultimately screw you. I don't know how trading standards let them get away with it. A contract should be honoured. This next hike is going to cost them thousands of customers.

Many probably agree - I too believe that only 'fixed price terms' should be offered but the freely entered into contract doesn't say that.

Sky are, indeed, honouring their side of the contract. The same one you agreed to.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@cruy-ff-pne You mention contracts should be honored and funnily enough thats exactly whats happening, the terms and conditions are quite clear.
These post that happen every year at this time are ridiculous, it just goes to show how many people don't bother reading any of the contracts they are entering in to.

Sky offer me a sports package at x££s for 24months, yet they will change it the following April... Its wrong, its misleading and someone out there should stop them doing it. Make them do 12 month April to April.. So people can walk away if they can't afford. Sky keep you because they make it hard to get out of longer contracts. It's wrong.

Get letters from sky saying your package won't change for 12 months and hey ho its all dishonest. Clearly says your package will stay same and you don't have to do a thing. How are sky allowed to send this stuff and then change it mid term.. It stinks and sky need regulating.
