I have just received an email from sky for a automatic compensation of £813.96 and would like it paid to the active direct debit account not as credit as it would cover over a year of bills

@MissStokes
If you are new to the forum then welcome to the Community, which is predominantly made up of Sky customers helping other Sky customers. You aren’t talking to Sky by posting here.
You could call Sky and ask about refunding to your bank but a credit refund is usually credited to your 'Live' Sky account and used for future payments so don't be surprised if Sky say no.

Re: £813.96 refund/compensation
@MissStokes Unless you had an agreement with sky in place for the transfer to bank before it was applied as credit then as per ofcom guidance the credit cannot be transferred unless the sky account is subsequently closed
