Okay i have been delving into this 31 day rolling contracts with sky tv and have been paying £29 instead of £26 so im not tied into a contract with it. I have been giving it a thought about leaving the subscription side of tv pack for now due to rising cost of living, but after looking into it and trying to end my tv service i receive a error message on the continue to cancel page stating i have to give sky 31 days notice. But if you see in there ts and cs page on information regarding 31 day rolling contracts you will see that you dont need to contact sky and can cancel without further notice. This is terrible that sky are stopping customers who are paying more to not be in a contract to cancel a service as they wish. Why is this allowed by sky and why am i paying more to not be in a contract if you wont let me? Its misleading and false information and a scam, as i should be able to go into my account page and select how i watch and select to cancel and proceed to cancel and that would be it. But no, WHY ARE YOU CHARGING EXTRA SO WE ARE NOT IN A CONTRACT AND DENY US THIS VERY THING WE PAY EXTRA FOR?

It's dead clear.
You can choose a contract that can be cancelled at any time subject to 31 days notice
OR
an 18 month contract that cannot be cancelled at any time
All services are supplied subject to contract terms.

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv
So select "Yes I still need help" at the bottom of the page as the options will load after about 5 seconds.

On the contrary the contractual terms and conditions you agree to when you sign up make it clear that 31 days notice is indeed required.

It says you can cancel at any time but this still requires 31 days notice.

The extra charge is to be in a different contract, with no minimum term.

Not true, you dont have to give 31 days notice when signing up for this type of service. Its not a contractual service and doesnt put you in a 18 month ect agreement. Thats the whole point. Its on there own legal disclaimer pages!

Having a contract with Sky doesn't mean you necessarily have a minimum term of 18 months.

Hi I totally share your concern,
If I may suggest, maybe you should switch to sky's now service as we are planning, It would work out £10 cheaper for you, and you can cancel anytime without giving a 31 day notice, and at the minute you can get both Sky TV and Cinema Combined for around 3 - 6 months for only £12 but that would be a deal package, or you can get a tv deal for £9.99 per month or £6.99 for 3-6 months, might be worth while having a look into.

I had an upgrade to my internet on 18th December. (Everything went fine and I am very happy with the new internet service.) The engineer looked at my current package and commented that I have F1. This meant nothing to me. I just assumed it was a natural part of my standard entertainment package.
I then had an upgrade to my TV yesterday - finally went with SkyQ. The engineer did the same thing - commenting on the F1. I finally realised this is a sports thing (about which I have no interest whatsoever.)
Just now (using the SkyQ service), I looked at my subscription package. F1 is on a "rolling subscription".
I have a suspicion that a family member may have inadvertently switched this on. All I want to know is, what does it cost each month, and how do I turn it off?

You will need to check your bill to see what you are being charged for it (www.sky.com/bill). You should be able to remove it with 31 days notice via the TV section in the My Sky App or via your My Sky account www.sky.com/mysky.
if it doesn't let you remove it online you will need to phone Sky.
You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.
If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number. If you are in the ROI on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

£18 a month. (Sky Sports package that I have never used!)
No way to turn it off online.
I will be calling Sky.
And also having words with a certain family member.
I do feel it is unreasonable that you can't turn things off online (even with a 31 day notice period).
