24 years VIP counts for nothing !!

I am a Q customer, having been with Sky since 2002 - I worked my way through standard box, an HD box and then Q - I  got used to the lack of reminders on Q (Though it was a big mistake) - I am now considering transferring to stream - but not at £83 which is what PRIORITY CUSTOMERS are trying to rip me off  by charging........

Sky Stream Package

  • Sky Ultimate TV (Sky Entertainment with Netflix – with ads)   - £35.00
  • Sky Sports Complete, including Sky Sports+   £33.00
  • HBO Max (with ads) and Disney+ (with ads)   Free
  • Whole Home (additional room)   £15.00
  • Monthly cost: £83.00
    Contract length: 24 months

I was wondering how much I should offer - and came up with the figure of £65

What would YOU pay ?

I am being taken to the cleaners over Q - £87.50 (Signature, Sport, HD and Multiscreen)

Why? What do you see as the benefits of doing so?

If you think about it, what would be the incentive for Sky to want to offer cheap deals for existing customers to switch from satelliete, particularly with that broadcasting platform approaching end of life, as that in itself will force customers to either drop Sky or move to the streaming platform.

Are you out of minimum term on the Q contract?

Re: 24 years VIP counts for nothing !!

@MarkGoldsmith It's still got 2 years + to go !

And forcing customers to lose a major part of the functionality is going to cause Sky problems .... would you accept a loss of recording ability and still pay the same ?

And that answers yours.

BTW, it doesn't "expire" it just means that you're out of minimum term and then need to give 31 days notice for cancellation if needed. Any discounts will drop off and then that Stream deal will look better and better (if still available).

Re: 24 years VIP counts for nothing !!

@Me134 So you reckon that a better deal will be available in 2 months  time ?

Is there a 'shrug shoulders' emoji on here?

You've forgotten your other option also, which is to leave.

They should be incentive for Sky to want to keep there exsisting customer base when the satellite platform is ending as with streaming there is more competition than they had on satellite. If what I am offered to change to stream from my present Sky Q. In fact I am offered either for glass or stream it every thing at full price and I would lose all my discounts that I have  on Sky Q. This being the case when my present Sky minimum term end I 2028  I will definitely not be switching to sky steam as I can get most of what my wife and I watch on Sky by getting a cheap firestick and subscribing to the now tv app. Yes that is technically still a Sky company but there subscription are a lot cheaper than having Sky stream with no no discount even Sky sports is cheaper on there than what you pay full price on Sky. For movies there plenty of competition to Sky movies in fact I watch more of Netflix and prime video than I find to watch on Sky movies anyway. No when satellite finishes Sky will have to do something to keep there customers or like you say they will walk . And what I have seen the Sky steam system is not a scratch on the satellite service as ther are many compliant, even now I read of many instances that customers that have tried Sky steam have not liked the service and wanted to return to Sky Q, a  option that will not abavailble onece the. Satellite service finishes. If sky steam gets such a bad name Sky might end up with a very small customer base and even offering price losing discounts might not get them customers if there service is such rubilsh they will go to the competition and may end up like ITV digital did going out of business.
