Sky box not working

My sky is not working and the screen message states the sky box is initialising. I have tried trouble shoot tips but no success after 4 hours of trying.

The 'initialising' message indicates that your Sky box isn't receiving a signal from your satellite dish. First thing to do is check the cable connections at the back of the box. Switch the box off at the plug first.
