Supported living accommodation upgrading to sky Q

My mother is in a retirement living home and they have all had sky in the past.

Now some have upgraded to sky Q and my mother is due to do the same tomorrow.

Sky Q doesnt seem to be working however.

The manager says the whole system needs upgrading to support sky Q and they may not do it.

Is this true or is it a simple plug in and switch over?

If it isn't going to work I obviously need to cancel the sky Q

Thank you

Hi @jan222 Yes the communal system would need to support SKY Q, if the Manager is not willing to upgrade then SKYQ will not work, I cannot understand how other tennants have SKYQ installed and it isn't working?

Unless some tennants can access the system and others are not cabled in?

@jan222 So are you saying those with Sky Q can't receive TV now ? or can they get it ?

If no one can get Sky Q then it may be as @Quoman7 says but

If others can get Sky Q  then it may be that Sky have provided a Unitron dCSS-422 Sky Q Plug - In adaptor. Which can work on older systems to make them compatible . It would need a Sky MDU trained engineer to come out and fit this apdapter to the communual system you would need to make sure it's a MDU trained engineer that has been assigned for your mothers installation and if they say they cannot install Sky Q or it won't work they should leave your mum with her current older Sky boxes in a working order

Is there any reason your mother is wanting to change to Sky Q ?

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer
