Sky (yahoo) email no longer working on outlook app (android).

Did you use the generated password? I find it best to use the copy function an the generator page and paste it in.

I really don't understand why outlook is such a problem with sky mail it took less than a minute to set up gmail on outlook.

It shouldn't be that difficult if you follow what we posted so have you used the generated password as you haven't answered this ?

It sn't normally difficult, but the OAuth authentication servers seem to be playing up at the moment.

The manual setup with generated password is a "work around".

I have tried all the suggestions on here and other sites, no joy.

Thanks for your time folk I have been on this for hours now and have decided to scrap the sky account seems to be more trouble than its worth.

Will open a second gmail account instead will be a pain letting ever one know as sky was my main account, but its given me my last headache.

Sorry you feel you have to give up.

As a test I tried adding a Sky address to Android Outlook, but as soon as it went to the OAuth challenge/add password option it errored with the same message as you. (but only on screen briefly)

I tried with a Yahoo.com address and it worked fine, so the problem seems to be with Sky's implementation of the OAuth challenge.

I then added the Sky email, using the settings @caesarome provided and a generated password, and it added fine.

So it definitely does work, if you decide to give it another go, just make sure you use the settings provided, especially the port numbers and use a freshly generated password.

Hi. I will probably give it another go when I have time, I used to have Sky everything TV, broadband and mobile I now only have my sky email, or I did.

The main reason I gave up with Sky is the complete lack of service when things go wrong.

When my Sky b/b went down many years ago I phoned the help desk and spoke to a guy that although was trying to help I couldn't understand, eventually I was told the problem was with equipment at the telephone exchange, and it would take a week as an appointment was needed for the sky engineers to have access to it.

Three weeks of complaining later my b/b came back on I switched to B.T not wanting to wait three weeks the next time it broke. Once I switched to BT they offered me a much better deal on my mobile so I switched that too.

My last tie with Sky was severed when my dish developed a fault and the engineer wanted both arms and legs to sort out so I switched to Netflix and free-view.

I did consider getting Sky glass but decided against it because of the broadband issues I had previously, so not impressed with Sky.

I am having same problem putting sky email on my new android tablet, I followed instructions entered my email address, then next, as soon as enter password appeared the screen closed with the message mentioned. I had the code copied to clipboard ready but didn't get the option to use it.

That seems to happening with all OAuth apps at the moment. You will need to use manual settings and a generated password until it is resolved.

Same problem here. My new Android phone refuses to allow me to add my Sky email address.

I go to 'Add Email Account', enter my address, hit continue, up pops a Yahoo sign-in screen with my address already filled in, hit continue, up pops another sign-in screen that closes in a quarter of a second. Then up pops the message, 'An error occurred during authentication. Please try again later'.

Well, I have been, but no luck. Any ideas?

When setting it up does it ask you for the email provider, if so select Other and use these settings:

No, there's no option. All you can do is enter your address then click Continue.

It asks for an IMAP name and IMAP Password (and SMTP). I guess the name isn't important, but the passwords are the 16-digit ones, yes?

That is correct.

The servers should be:

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

Server - imap.tools.sky.com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes
