Checking a whether an email is a scam

I've received this email and I don't know if it is genuine: It purports to be from someone from Sky saying that my email account is currently outdated and that I haave incoming emails on hold. It has asked me to click on a link to re-validate my webmail mailbox.  The email has the Sky logo and is from a Susan Mcniff:

I have had several emails over the last week like this - some from Sky and some from Yahoo who I'm with

That's an attempt to scam you. The link will probably take you to a fake login page to capture your password.

As Yahoo and Sky do not send out such emails as our account do not go out of date so mark this email as spam and do the same should you be sent anymore,

As a rule of thumb, disregard any text or email message asking you to do anything with your Sky Yahoo Mail account. It's practically a certainty that they won't be genuine.
