Using Asus RT-AC5300 with Sky Gigafast

Hey, I am switching from Vodafone over to Sky Gigafast, I currently have my Asus router connected directly to the Open Reach ONT box. I would be grateful if someone could provide me with the router setting I would need to change to use it with SKY.

The router runs on the latest asus firmware. Screenshot included below.

@Brownbear1710

Okay so WAN should be set to 'Automatic IP' not PPPoE like it is at the moment.

Then in the DHCP Option 61 box put abc123@skydsl|abc123

Re: Using Asus RT-AC5300 with Sky Gigafast

Thank you @jamesn123 that has worked and I am now up and running. Question for you, my miminum speed guarantee is about 600mbps, currently getting about 200-300 (wifi turned off, 1 laptop connected through Ethernet). We've only switched yesterday so assume it'll take a while for the line to stabilise and for us to get to the 600?

No with FTTP it should be fairly instant. Check you have QoS disabled

Hey,

QOS is disabled, and I'm now averaging about 400-430 download and about 100 upload 😞

@Brownbear1710

Sounds like it could be more of a line issue then.

What laptop is it? Is it fast enough to handle gigabit? What speedtest site are you using?

Re: Using Asus RT-AC5300 with Sky Gigafast

Its a HP Probook G9, so should be able to handle 1gbps, using Speedtest.com to test the speed.

@Brownbear1710

I would leave the Sky router connected then contact Sky and report low throughput
