I have sky ultrafast and should have guaranteed speeds over 100mbps. If I plug in an ethernet I get 150mbs all the time so there is no open reach issue, however my WiFi speeds are regularly less than 30mbps. I have 2x boosters, sky q with 2mini boxes. Sky support have been very poor, even sending out a TV engineer who suggested a broadband specialist should visit however sky are refusing to send anyone.
I am getting so frustrated and all I have been offered is to come out of my sky contract. Can anyone suggest any solutions please?

Find out moreThe Guaranteed Minimum Download Speed applies at the Hub, not WiFi from the Hub: through enough walls or over a distance all WiFi reaches zero Mbs. You'll also be measuring hotspot speed rather than direct WiFi, and speed based on test device limitations (my phone tests our 500Mbs FTTP as 40Mbs)

This still happens with a brand new router, with one device connected whilst standing next to the router. The speeds were great for 2 years and suddenly they have dropped. I'm no broadband expert but it feels like something is interfering with the signal now.

Quite possibly, particularly if you have neighbours or have changed the local environment with additional devices. WiFi, unlike cabled connectivity, is inherently unstable.

If you want faster WiFi speeds you'll need to look a higher end WiFi router or mesh system.
