My WiFi keeps dropping out. I need this to work all the time as I work from home for a government department

No domestic broadband ISP does (or can) offer 100% reliability.

 

As a start, if you post your Hub stats, we'll have some information about your particular phone line and internet connection to work with.

If your Government role is that critical then they should be providing you with a business grade broadband connection. 

If your broadband has developed a fault then the typical SLA from Openreach is 2 working days to resolve but this can be longer if there is a physical failure requiring repair.
