not happy with Sky Streaming option
See this morning, leading newspaper reviewing streaming services.
Recommendation is "NOT" to go that route, they might give you a subscription saving, but your functionality will disappear.
Despight Sky's denial, it looks as tho they are preparing for rumoured Satellite shut down shortly.
Looks as though they are resting the water with their cash cow sports customers

Their rep tried to tell me it had at least 10 years to run. The story I saw in Uk media, if I remember correctly, is the date you quote, but only on basis of no problems. Unless sky prepared to sign up for longer contract owner not going to put more money into it, hence panic to sign people up to streaming services before VPN wariours take control of market place.

Re: Sky Sports+ stream cut off during EFL game this evening - why?
SES, the satellite owners, would presumably need several hundred million dollars worth of advance contracts to consider replacing the current cluster at 28.2E which is due to expend remaining positioning propellant sometime around the turn of this decade.
It's perhaps worth remembering that the UK satellite television user base was already rather small because this is a small country (half the households is still only around 12 million subscribers) even before streaming started peeling customers away to other platforms. Sky had market dominance prior to the arrival of high speed internet because it was the only multichannel system with national coverage, but satellite television broadcasting is now literally a technology of the previous century.

I think the article I read was based on similar to your comments. It looks as the the current satellite tv providers are caught between the devil and deep blue ( see -
with the dish for Uk and Ireland near end of life and no replacement launch due yet. They obviously have to find a solution particularly as major content providers ITV and BBC advertising their solution heavily.
I see also that Uk rugby league which sky cut me off are pushing 200 matches a season for £19.99 per month., must get it set up and bin Sky Sports
