Further to my previous post, I queried with Viewer Relations why the ATP matches Court Choice streams on Sky+ don’t include the world‑feed commentary when, for the same match, it is broadcast on their linear channel. I’m sharing the response I received from Sky Viewer Relations:
“Not all matches available through Sky Sports+ will have commentary. Commentary is generally provided on matches selected for the Sky Sports Tennis linear channel. For ATP and WTA events, we take the live feed from Tennis Channel. The availability of commentary varies between individual feeds and matches. This is not a technical issue but a difference in the feeds being supplied.”
It’s worth noting that most WTA matches include commentary on the Sky+ streams, which is why the missing commentary on ATP matches is confusing. I asked Sky for further clarification, especially as the world‑feed commentary is available on the official ATP streams for the same matches. Sky replied to say they have nothing further to add and have simply logged the feedback.
Posting this here for others who have been wondering why ATP match commentary is missing on the Sky+ streams and looking for an official answer. If it helps, have a look to see if that same match is being broadcast on either the Sky Sports Tennis or Sky Sports+ linear channel at the same time, as it is likely there will be commentary on the linear channel broadcast. Obviously if it's not being broadcast on the linear channels then you have to watch with no commentary which personally I dislike (I know other people welcome it!). Hope this helps!
