If they are closing but not publicly announced, then any one sharing information would be breaching confidential information.

Where did you hear that they were closing?

Also you have mentioned Sky Mix on that list but didn't they literally recently rebrand that channel a few months ago from Pick.

I'd suggest it wouldn't be unreasonable for those to close: they are fairly redundant in content, branding and/or EPG slot.

Movies24 in particular really doesn't make sense now Sky is a division of Comcast alongside NBCU

I guess if there is a rumour that these are closing, it is a result of this

With the exception of Sky Mix, the others mentioned in the opening post are (to best of my knowledge) are Sd only

Don't know where this rumour came although I don't think Sky Replay is needed, Movies24 should be relaunched as Sky Cinema Mix.

I would like a sky cinema mix channel and for sky to make that channel available free to air.

@Trips+out

That would defeat the object for customers subscribing to Sky Cinema.

Thats essentially sky showcase. They tend to show at least 2 or 3 films a week on that from Sky Cinema.

Not really sure why you think Movies24 is redundant , maybe due a rebrand but although the Hallmark fare it serves up may not be yours or mine cup of tea i am not aware of another comcast channel in the UK offering this kind of output to those who do enjoy it.

I would highly suspect that SD versions of these channels are to close. Similar to what BBC are doing from 8 Jan (All BBC SD services closing) and ITV from 9 Jan (ITV are beginning to remove regional variations in SD: ITV Border Scotland, Channel TV, Wales, UTV and ITV3, ITV4, ITVBe SD are closing).

Also similar to what Sky have done with the Sky Cinema channels where the following are now HD only:

  • Sky Cinema Select (Fast & Furious)
  • Sky Cinema Hits
  • Sky Cinema Animation
  • Sky Cinema Comedy (Ultra Comedy)
  • Sky Cinema Thriller
  • Sky Cinema Drama
  • Sky Cinema Sci-Fi & Horror

and the following in HD & SD:

  • Sky Cinema Premiere
  • Sky Cinema Greats
  • Sky Cinema Family
  • Sky Cinema Action

NBC will be perfect to expand to the UK replacing Channel 4 as a broadcaster after making Kevin Spacey's documentary was unacceptable behaviour includes ITV facing a downfall with Post Office IT horizon scandal, which ITV will be replace by American Broadcasting Company as for Channel 5 to be replaced by CBS. It needs to happen this year and in 2025.

Not going to happen, Ofcom might have an awful lot to say about that as those are PSB Channels.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
