Sky Ports F1 Catch-up
During certain times of the year (late spring to mid autumn) I have no signal due to a line of sight issue. Anyway... while looking for the latest F1 content on catch up, I have noticed that Sky is ridiculously slow when uploading F1 content to catch up.
I wanted to watch the F1 show. Checked catch up and it wasn't available. Checked on YouTube and they had streamed it live 9 hours previous to when I was looking for it on catch up.
I wanted to watch the Qualifying, and I came across a similar issue. Because that is F1 content, there is a time delay on the content being made available on catch up, but on YouTube Sky had uploaded Qualifying highlights.
Onto race day. The race finished at around 4pm. I checked for the race to be uploaded to catch up and by 6:0am the following morning (that's over 14 hours after the race finish) the content still isn't available on catch up. Usually you will get the part before the race, the race itself, and the after race programme called Chequered Flag. Again... none of these are available, but I can watch a 15 minute video on YouTube which are highlights of the race.
I'm not sure what I am paying Sky for when I can get extended highlight content free from Channel 4 way before Sky upload it, and all other content like the F1 Show and Ted's Notebook, and even post race interviews are all made available for free on YouTube.
Am I missing something here? This isn't the first time I've contacted Sky about this, but nothing has changed. Todays phone call to Sky is going to be interesting.
