Rik Mayall: Magnificent B’Stard Missing

The Sky Documentary Rik Mayall: Magnificent B’Stard appears to have been removed from catchup. I looked yesterday and it said available until 25th July, but there's no sign of it today (only future broadcasts).

Yesterday was 25th Jun. Is it possible you misread it?

I did briefly think that, but I'm certain it said 25th July. It was only first broadcast yesterday.

What TV platform are you on as I can see the episode on the Sky Go app to download to my old Sky+ box, it does have available date to 25th July.

Looks like someone has made a mess of this- first it disappeared as per previous discussion,  now it is back but butchered and missing the last few minutes.

I don't know and have not seen it, but what would come to mind is maybe some legal issues have arose.

Just watching the Rik Mayall documentary (Magnificent B'stard), during an ad break, it advertises the same documentary is available in UHD. I searched, it's not, only HD???

Anyone else?

It's only available on NOW in HD too, but seeing as much of the archive material is newly scanned photographs and 8/16mm film footage, it's certainly possible that it was mastered in UHD. 

It may be one of these random shows where Sky only release the HD version to begin with, then don't release the UHD version for a month so that fans watch it again, so as to artificially increase viewing figures.

Young Ones, Filthy Rich & Catflap and Blackadder are going to be pretty ragged though, which isn't a problem for those of us who remember when they were broadcast but apparently youngsters find it  distressing...

One of the (few) good uses of AI in broadcast at the moment is that it can achieve some surprisingly good results at upscaling poor SD content. I was particularly impressed by some of the upscaling done in the recent Kylie documentary on Netflix. Much of the low-res 80's VHS archive footage looked astonishingly good in 4K with Dolby Vision, cut next to the new master interview footage, shot natively in 6K I believe, to allow for reframing in post.
