Reduced Paramount+ titles via Sky+ with SkyCinema

Can someone answer whether customers who have Sky+ with Sky Cinema will be getting the full package of shows on Paramount+.

I wanted to watch Wolf Pack but it is nowhere to be seen on my TV Guide listing. It is on Paramount+.

I have learnt it is only available via SkyQ or SkyGlass. My internet speed is not good enough for either, a sky engineer informed me if this as he was due to install SkyQ. I literally cannot get better speeds.

I am excited for season 2 of Yellowjackets but anticipate that like Wolfpack it also will not be on Sky+.

Anyone else think this is discriminatory?

It is there for me, via Catch Up > Paramount+ > Wolf Pack.

@LMc000

Paramount+ is an app: by definition its contents are delivered online.  Sky+ HD hardware cannot host apps.

The only other way to deliver content is through satellite broadcast into a channel, and there is no Paramount channel.

What speed do you get now? Q can function for some on-demand content on surprisingly little bandwidth, as long as it is left long enough to download.

Max speed about 6mbs but it's not stable hence the problem with having SkyQ.

As for Paramount+ being an app, I get that but there are other Paramount+ titles on the TV Guide/ On demand, Sky appear to be choosing which is made available based on which service they use.

That would only be a problem for streaming apps.  Live channels, recording from channels, playback from channels, and on-demand Sky content spooled to disk before viewing will work, as would Q Mini boxes for the same purposes.

This isn't what the engineer said. He literally called his supervisor who confirmed that skyQ would not work with a stable connection to the internet with a minimum speed.

Can confirm that has appeared in Catch Up TV.

Thanks for the help.

@LMc000 Sky Q with slow internet will work in exactly the same way as your Sky+HD box works. Live TV is via satellite so unaffected. Downloads will work but take some time as they do now. Streaming apps probably won't work but you don't have access to them now anyway. That said, I believe Paramount+ is a streaming app on Sky Q, so you're probably better off having the download option with Sky+HD.

Re: Reduced Paramount+ titles via Sky+ with SkyCinema

Thanks for the info.

I was just relaying my experience of whqt the Sky engineer said as he was booked to install SkyQ.

We wanted a mini box, so maybe that was the problem.

Either way. We are stuck with Sky+ but I appreciate your knowledge even though its of no help to me n this instance.

@LMc000

Mini boxes don't stream at all: their data comes via the main Q box, and so they have the same functionality as that box on slower broadband.  It's somewhat alarming that Sky personnel don't know this six years after Q launched.

@TimmyBGood

I won't comment on what the engineers do and don't know.

This wasn't a recent installation attempt this was a good while ago when we ordered it.

I'm sure they would have installed it if they could considering the costs and such of installation and the waste of their engineers time.

Once again I'm relaying what was said. They decided SkyQ would not be a reliable option for us personally.
