Ramin Djawadi

Can I just give a huge mention to the composer of the music for house of the dragon and game of thrones.

I feel the programmes would not have had such a huge impact without his fantistic mesmerising music.

I think he has a real skill for bringing the whole series to life and making us feel so many emotions.

I just wanted to mention him as a lot of the composers get overlooked and they are an integral part of the show

Would you have preferred he composed new theme music for House of the Dragon, rather than them reusing the theme tune from GOT?

I think they could have redone the music a bit. What comes to mind is something like they did in The Wire, where the theme song was the same song every season but in a different musical style, which i think would have worked well to differentiate it a bit more from GOT.

No I am glad he used game of thrones music it is most fitting. The incidental music is what is most brilliant, you are watching and are nit even aware hiw the music is setting the scene

Enjoyed his work even more after Pacific Rim, which came out after a couple of seasons of Game of Thrones had aired and was a totally different direction.

Game of Thones theme was pleasant and kind of dramatic, agree it fitted well.

Fine that it carries over well for House of the Dragon.

Often, within many a film and TV series these days, the music drones and spoils the flow of dialogue.

But found both in Game of Thrones and now House of the Dragon, the mix has worked well.

I love TV & fim music  & I rate Ramin Djawadi very highly & I read that he worked in his early career with my all time favourite Hans Zimmer.

Ramin also composed the music for one of my favourite shows Westworld.

in Westworld he managed to put a spin on some well known tunes such as 'Paint it Black' (Rolling Stones) and 'Enter  Sandman' (Metallica)  making changes to fully suit the  setting /show .

I will specially highlight his rendition of 'The House of The Rising Sun' where you really believe you are  hearing it on a Piano in an old  Western Bar

His music for the Theme & throughout  all 4 series  is  just  brilliant IMO  (unlike the plot which I think many gave up after S2)

If you can find these on Streaming services I urge you to listen to these peices to see if you are transported into the show.

(BTW Enter Sandman was used in a Gangster/prohibition 1920s setting - hence the use of Trumpets with mutes etc.)

P.S. Paint it Black was used in both S1 & S2 - in S2 it was in a Japanese setting (as you will tell if you can listen to the track)

Saw Ramin in Manchester when he did 'Game of Thrones' live. I was a fan of the music before, but it was something else to hear it in person.

Re: Ramin Djawadi

I looooove the soundtrack! It's on all the streaming services and I sometimes put it on in the background when I'm working.

I also loved his work on Westworld - genius renditions of classic songs.

I hope we get a House of the Dragon season 2 soundtrack release too.
