Any idea why Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is no longer being shown on Sky Comedy? I assumed it was related to the writers strike but the show is back running in the States.
Is it an issue between Sky and HBO Max?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI looked at the last week tonight facebook and twitter, the last episodes promoted were 30th April. They had a promo about change of category for Emma but nothing about
I looked at wikipedia, last episode 30th April.
I looked at hbo schedule online on Sunday nights, it is the idol at 9pm edt, followed by the righteous gemstones at 10ishpm edt
Where do you see that it has returned?

You're right I think. Seems the writers strike is still ongoing. I should do more research than just Google (screen shot attached where you can see why I thought it had restated - episode guide looks like it's aired, but maybe that's just what was planned)
Thanks

So, I'm just trying to clarify, why are shows like Last Week Tonight, Real Time with Bill Maher and SNL not currently on Sky but episodes are being broadcast in the US?

According to Wikipedia
Last snl episode aired was 15th April
Last week tonight - 30th April
Bill maher - 28th April
Could the episodes in the US be repeats?

No new episodes are possible while the WGA action continues*
Late night will be the first genre to go bye-bye. Because these shows are written on an extremely tight schedule in order to stay topical, they can’t have any episodes banked for future use. That means no more Jimmy Fallon guffawing, no more Jimmy Kimmel pranks, no more erudite Stephen Colbert, and no more Saturday Night Live. Other shows that have shut production down include The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Real Time with Bill Maher, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and NBC’s Tonight.

*except for non-unionised production, such as Gutfeld! at Fox.
