@Anonymous wrote:Why on earth would they make an animated series. The thrones shows and house of the dragon are definatley for adults only. That seems a very strange decision to me. I won't be watching a cartoon.
Despite me saying above I'm not really a fan of the use of cartoons for such things, but as mentioned above the Star Trek lower decks has been a big hit for Star trek fans and has added a lot of background info to the whole journey of Star Trek for fans.
I also do love the Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous on Netflix, it has been addictive viewing for its five seasons and they have just announced a new sequel series to that.
Cartoons can be of an adult nature and are just for a younger audience.
But, yes always woul prefer a live action series.

I just think after a series of such high calibre it's a let down.
Also doing actors out of jobs.

Many of the cartoons and animated films pay actors high wages for doing voice overs in them.
Much like they do for the audiobooks of the series.

Yes i know they get paid. I still don't like the idea. Its like when they made lord of the rings in an animated film. Thank god they made the films later with actors.

It will be six episodes, release says to be 2025, rumours saying later in that year.
Assume the filming will now get under way in full flow.
A brief preview has been doing the rounds overnight, in the Max 'coming to Max 2024-2025'.

House of the Dragon is ending after season 4 and they confirmed that season 3 will go into production in early 2025, so perhaps a first half of 2026 release for it. Hopefully knowing they only have 2 more seasons will allow for a much better season 3 and season 4 as they will be able to properly plan out the storylines with the end in sight.

If it is the end I'd imagine there will be a few spin offs instead. Hopefully they decide to make another series though

There will definitely be a series 3 as I've read that it's due to release in 2026. I'm uncertain we will see a series 4 but and hopeful there will be one!
