Ironic that I clicked the 'What's On' button to discuss what's not on.

Walking Dead, War of the Worlds, The Orville, had to spend more money to sign up to Disney+ in order to finish watching these series.

Yellowjackets, Your Honor and a few others that I can't remember at this time - Paramount+

England's overseas cricket tours - BT

Now I have just learnt that SKY have cancelled Britannia season 4.

Well Sky, I will be cancelling you after 24 years full subscription.

All of these miving to other broadcasting platforms has nothing to do with Sky, as it the content owners that have moved them to their own platforms as that is the world we live in these days. Paramount+ is free via Sky if you are a Sky Cinema customer.

Although you are only taking to Sky cistomers on here you are doing the right thing if you don't believe Sky is value for money.

Sky has apparently “declined to comment” on the show’s cancellation, but there may be a number of factors behind the decision.

Britannia is a very expensive production to make by British budget standards.

As happened with several of our favourite shows , the extended gap between seasons due to the pandemic very likely caused a loss of momentum for interest in Britannia, which it failed to regain upon its return in 2021.

There’s also the relaunch of EPIX to take into account.

The American broadcaster of Britannia was presumably also a key financial contributor to the show’s production, but their recent rebrand as MGM+  may have led to a refocusing on commissioning newer shows rather than renewing old EPIX titles.

Thanks for the replies. Any programmes that Sky lose (in or out of their control) should really be reflected in my bill, yet it goes up year on year.

As does all other bills.

The counter argument would be that sky doesn't raise prices for new series, it is not a pay per view service.

If sky gave a discount because orville and walking dead are no longer available on sky service, then that would also affect people who never watched them, people unaffected by them leaving.

At the end of the day, it is up to people to decide when tv rights change, shows are cancelled etc to decide whether the service still offers them value for money. If not, them make changes (either leave or try to renegotiate)
