waited 24 hours for it all to update but still no joy

That's a 2107 model of TV so may not be compatible with ITVX. 

If you have Sky Q or Sky Stream then the app is available on your box/puck. 

If you really want it on your TV then ask ITV directly by using this form:

@Stonie  This will be down th the age of your TV, it's not a Sky issue as Sky are not responsible for ITV X apps  on anything other than their own platform.
