Here's a teaser
This isn't an issue; it's simply a bit of fun for you to work out.
This is something I did the other day, see if you can work out how I did it.
I was alone at home. I was upstairs in bed. My TV is downstairs, & yet I was able to turn on the TV. How?
I did not use a remote. I did not use a phone. I didn't shout. I only have one TV.

Re: Here's a teaser
Why do I even bother? Clearly, you prefer to reply to queries about sport & platform login issues, so I will let you carry on doing that. So sorry that I tried to inject a morsel of fun onto this very dull board. I won't do it again.

Think your post yesterday got caught in the automatic escalation trap for some reason, so none of us saw it. It's flagged as such.
For me your first post has only appeared in the last half hour or so.
I will try, but straight away think it may be wrong as you mention using a phone, perhaps meaning a phone/tablet.
I sometimes do this in bed;
Select the wrong Sky Stream box as the casting source from from an iPad like using YouTube cast.
So have to run down to the Lounge TV and turn it off and then to return to the bedroom.
Sky Stream with two pucks (Former Sky Q and Sky+ customer), Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Protect kit tester.
My good journey to Sky Stream from Sky Q. Click here to read

Re: Here's a teaser
@lettice To your first point, this morning, I saw that my OP had been viewed 69 times without any replies, so not so sure it disappeared like you say. So that was the reason for my second post.
As to your guess, I never said that I used a phone, I said that I did not use a phone ( or a tablet ).
Keep guessing.

Most likely you used a smart speaker (“Alexa/Hey Google, turn on the TV”) hooked to the TV via CEC or a smart plug. That needs no phone, no remote, and you don’t have to shout for it to work from upstairs.
Or you set a power-on timer (either the TV’s on-timer or a scheduled smart plug), so it came on at the chosen time while you were in bed.

@Marlu-Nyu You're on the right track. @oj01 Also close.
Okay, so this is what I did. I have an Alexa on my bedside table. I have another Alexa downstairs near the TV. The TV itself does have Alexa built in, but I don't use it as it will cause confusion between that & the Echo Dot. However, the TV also has Bixby built in. So I used the Drop-In function on my bedroom Alexa, which connected to the downstairs Alexa & I said, " Bixby, turn the TV on " & it worked.
When I told my partner later that day, she said it was both the most brilliant & laziest thing I've ever done.
