Because probably the content on the App is ad free, Sky and Comcast were not going to give  Sky subscribers a ad free version of the Hayu  service for free. I think they wanted  to make some revenue from the deal. So they create a version with ads in the demand section of the Sky box that gives them extra revenue to make up the loss of because of cancellation of subscriptions by all the Sky subscribers.

Well that presupposes several things all at once; that there were a huge number of Sky customers who've all just cancelled paying for the app, and that a large amount of money can be gained from selling those adverts and that people can't even find the FF button and actually watch adverts outside of live TV (I don't know a single person who does that).

I think it's much simpler personally, I think the adverts in those downloads (I've only heard they are there from reading here, I haven't checked for myself) are just what would normally in an "On Demand" item anyway.

Doesn't help matters the advert on TV  for Sky Ultimate TV says 5 streamers  - Sky , Netflix , Disney+ , HBO Max and Hayu

Many people on this thread are at a loss to understand why S11 Ep 10 has yet to appear. Sky seem to be inept in terms of giving a response to this.

I can't seem to watch Hayu on the TV without having to subscribe, when last week was watching Below deck. I can access Hayu on my sky go, why is this happening, just keep going round on a loop on the TV, can anyone help?

Its not the Hayu app that is included in the Sky subscription, its the Hayu on-demand content that is uploaded to Sky's on-demand platform that is available for free.

The difference is that the sky on-demand content of the Hayu shows will have ads in it and may take longer to be uploaded than the content is on the Hayu app.

Hi, I am watching via Sky Stream and noticed that Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4, Episode 4 is currently missing from the Hayu on-demand catalog. The rest of the season so far is there, but this specific episode in its placed seems to be from another season. I've refreshed the apps and restarted the pick but still isn't coming up, but can see it's on sky go. Could the operations team please look into this and re-upload the missing file? Thank you!

Ah must have been uploaded yesterday then as definitely wasn't there on Tuesday when episode 13 was uploaded. Better late than never i guess,
