Re: Hard disc drive
I have moved your post from the Broadband board. Do you have Sky+ or Sky Q?

Re: Hard disc drive
How old is your Sky Box ? Hard drives can wear away over time especially for tv viewing if you constantly delete and download things again. I'd recommend contacting Sky to report it as faulty if a factory reset doesn't resolve the issue.

That would be pointless if the OP has a Sky+ box as Sky don't support Sky+ / Sky+HD set ups so their advice would be to upgrade to Sky Q or change to Stream/Glass anyway.

Re: Hard disc drive
It would not be "pointless" to let them know about the fault as then Sky would be able to advise further or maybe even refer them to Sky stream. Nothing wrong with getting in contact with them to tell them about the fault.

Re: Hard disc drive
Also the OP didn't say if it was Sky + ? You even asked them yourself.

Re: Hard disc drive
Correct. I was trying to clarify which system the OP has as the advice would be different.
Let us know which you have and your post can be moved to the appropriate board.
If you have Sky+ then the above advice applies as Sky won't send and engineer, won't replace the box for another and will tell you you need to change platforms. Also buying a second hand Sky+ box won't help either as your viewing card can't be paired to it.
If you have Sky Q try following this link. It should lead to a replacement box if needed https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-q-hard-drive-errors
If you do need a new Q box remember to remove the viewing card from the faulty box before it disappears into the back of the couriers van and accept any new power cable DPD deliver with the replacement box in case it's different to the one you have.
