Golf coverage 12th July 2026

Why is coverage of Scottish open from 10am onwards today, final day, only featuring 2 groups who have absolutely no chance of winning tournament when there are dozens of more interesting golfers on the course. Treating viewers (customers) with utter contempt.

hi @Ljppower

401 is Sports main event & tends to duplicate the feed from what SKY deem to be the 'Main Event'  at the time which  would have been the end of the Women's Major from Evian-les-Bains (which was also on SKY Golf on 406)  when you posted which may  have been slightly overrunning.

'Major' events generally taking precedence over non Majors

The Men's Scottish Open was on Sky Sports + (404) -if I remember correctly - before it switched over to Sky Golf on 407  & Main Event (401)

Non 'Majors'  do tend to start coverage with 'Featured Groups' - although often more than just a couple - before switching to 'Full Coverage'

I don't why that is - possibly to limit costs due to full coverage needing more camera crews and possibly more staff monitoring / recording etc

Of course - who should be covered within the featured groups could probably discussed at length with many different viewpoints - the same for who does still get coverage when 'full coverage' is in play
