Discovery+

I have Discovery+ free with my Sky account but it's looking like I will unable to watch the Australian Open Tennis which starts on 16/01. Why? This happened last year and after contacting Discovery+ directly, they couldn't help even when I said that I would pay to use the service.

Please help. Thanks in advance

The tennis is part of the sports package on Discovery+ but unfortunately the free version you have only covers the entertainment side of things as you can see here:

Re: Discovery+

Ah right, that makes sense. How do I upgrade my package so that I can get the sport?

It looks as though you can't upgrade through Sky, so I guess you would need to take out a fresh subscription directly with Discovery+ which includes it.

It doesn't look like you can:

Sports coverage isn't currently available on the discovery+ app via Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream.

@Sazmac

Important to be clear that even if you subscribe separately (or additionally) to the version of Discovery+ which includes Sports using a different email address the Discovery+ app hosted by a Sky device won't let you view the additional content using those credentials: Sky hardware appears to be 'stuck' with the free limited option.  If your Q box is connected to a smart television then the TV itself may have an appropriate app available.

@Sazmac whst a difference a day makes as of today both the Discovery + app on Sky Q and Sky Stream/Glass now have the sports content. You may havecto sign out and resign in but you should see a new item in the left hand menu
