Classic sci-fi channel

I would love a channel dedicated to 50's-60's classic sci-fi films like 'The Earth Dies Screaming' and 'Island of Terror', not like the cheap films on the sci-fi channel now from the 2000's, UK Gold was brilliant at showing old films like that and old war films, thanks.

examples 🤣

Earth vs The Flying Saucers

Fiend Without a Face

Fobidden Planet

Day of The Triffids

They Came From Beyond Space

@VT1

I'd suggest it would be impossible to broadcast a channel with only that content on a commercially viable basis, given the likely audience figures and particularly with the additional cost of satellite distribution.

I love the 50s -70s sci fi films and tv series.

Not much chance I feel the Sky scifi channel will air classic scifi, it was not mentioned in the relaunch of that channel remit.

For free content or via a Sky box;

A few of those films you mention above recently have been shown and one currently is showing on Pluto TV. I will let you look for them, amongst many others.

Also check out the free Roku app (on Sky boxes) and the Plex app (available on most Smart TVs) that has a lot of 50s and 60s scifi.

Another couple have recently been on the various Legend channels and good to keep tabs on those channels for that content.

Talking Pictures often has some scifi classic films.

A few available now by their catch-up service https://www.tptvencore.co.uk/ or via a red button service via their freeview teresstrial channel

Also, keep on eye on the Thats TV and Great movie set of channels, they have had some classic scifi in the last year.

  @VT1  If you have Amazon Prime Video then use their search function, they may have what you're looking for, there are loads of old films to be found on APV.

In addition.

ITVx app, available on Sky boxes also has some classic Scifi films and series.

Plus, Doctor Who classic episodes are all still available on BBC iPlayer via the Sky boxes.

Mind, the Sky Q On demand downloads for that are still the signed versions.
