Indeed... With the amount of Climax that have left sky and other channel need to move from 900-906, there is also a plausible case that EPG is significantly small. They do seem to be focusing on Movies, Sports PPV, News, Music, Religion, International - Urdu, Secondary 800-898, Adult/ Regional & Interactive by filling gaps. For me persnally, I might keep Entertainment/Documentaries and Kids once sky doesn't create any new slot unused. I don't mind Kids reduced after Disney/CBBC was no longer SD, if 640-649 gets shuffled into a different number and eyeing a return to Shopping on 650-699 once 601-649 gets split up like primary versions. I'll Remain Int genre Hindi 709 Apna MA TV or 711. 🤔

Option:

Movies: 316 Movies24+, 325 TalkingPictures (or unchanged 328/329)

Entertainment/Documentaries (Overspill): 350-399 or 360-399  Refuse to do HD swaps in Ireland between 340-349.

Sports (Active): 480-489  if they want to place an order of Sports Genre like 401-479 section.

Sports (PPV): 492 TNTSBoxOff2HD

News: 519 DM News English - (WION HD)  Ceased broadcasting.

Music: 540 Clubland TV,  541 NOW 70s, 542 NOW 80s, 543 NOW 90s & 00s, 544 NOW ROCK - (to combine News/Music small channels.)

Religion: 584 EWTN Catholic, 586 Faith UK, 587 Dunamis TV, 589 SonLife

International - (Urdu): 733 GEO News, 734 New Vision TV, 735 Islam Channel, 736 Noor TV, 738: IQRA TV, 739 Islam TV, 740 Ahlebait TV, 741 Takbeer TV, 742 Eman Channel, 743 ARY Digital, 747 QTV Religious.

Adult: 905, TVX 40+, 906 XXX Girl Girl - (Climax Closes down with small channels)

Regional & Interactive - 931-960 (or unchanged 951-980)

I feel these comments are becoming more prominent and honestly, they do not add to the discussion on any post. The idea to change channels around is not feasible.

For example, on Sky Q, there are empty slots in the movies section, hence why Movies24+ was moved to 329 and not on 325 as it should have logically. Broadcasters can buy channel slots on the EPG and depending on their contracts, they get to keep these EPG numbers for a selected period or indefinitely, if it's continued to be paid for. EPG slots 325, 326 and 327 are seemingly are owned by (a) broadcaster(s).

(Note: underlined is assumed)

So your suggestion is null and void because Sky has to honour the contracts they have in place with broadcasters, and can't just change the channels around as per your suggestion on Sky Q.

However, on Sky Glass and Stream, it seems like Sky disallows buying EPG slots, so this is why channels can be changed at Sky's will.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - April 2026

I wonder if Discovery+ 1 channels will close in the UK at later date.

I can't see how removing them in Ireland only cuts costs will they will still be broadcasting on Satellite

I think they may after a year or two. I think because they launched Really +1 in January, it wouldn't make sense for them to just close them all now. But in 2027/8, they might. Also, there may be more people in Ireland willing to use on-demand services in comparison to people in the UK and/or, people are still watching the +1 channels more in the UK than in Ireland.

The only way you're going to get an answer is if you contact WBD yourself as it's their decision.

Yeah it has to be 316 and 325... They should buy a new slot because TCM was no longer on sky.

But it just one-time experienced though never got that same problem with Discovery made alternate plans for +1 on Ireland.  As Sky need to submit a complaint, and possibly the channels would blow up.

The thing is that when TCM closed Movies24 and Movies 24+ took over their channels. There might be a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery and NBCUniversal (who own Movies24) where they swapped EPG numbers, so WBD now owns 325, 326 and 327. I don't know, only Sky does. But I do know that these are reserved channels as a broadcaster owns the EPG slot.

The best thing to do if you want channel changes is to contact Sky directly. You can email Sky at viewerR@sky.uk.

Also regard to the Discovery +1 channels, there is alternatives, Discovery+ and HBO Max. Time shift channels are dying out, Sky didn't even bother to relaunch Sky One +1.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - April 2026

Movies24 has been operated by Sky since 2019

I don't really see the need for this amount of +1 channels, maybe the free to air channels bring in advertising revenue, beside Discovery Channel, the other Pay channels i doubt do since they don't show new programming.

It's actually owned by NBCUniversal and operated by Sky, just for clarification. The reason for +1 channels, as well as the likes of radio channels (even though apps and the like exist) is because this is the only way some people receive the content. Clearly there is less need for them in Ireland than the UK.

My point was that Discovery have their day counterparts which was completely irrelevant to the turning circle of the WBD and remove 11 channel's, As EPG will have Sky loaded up with so many non-standard Irish version. Seems very similar to UK.
