We too also have the same error message and have done since yesterday. We have tried all of the same procedures mentioned in other posts yet to no avail. 

Strangely enough Apple TV is working on our additional sky Q mini box, but not on the main Sky Q box?!?! 

Because of this I assume it is an issue to do with with sky Q box / installed app itself and not the internet?

Apple TV app won't work for me either. Tried yesterday and this morning (14 Dec). Also tried switching sky box off and on and I still can't access the app. Everything else is working ok

Same problem with my Sky Glass. Phoned Sky and iwas told it was a problem with Apple and nothing to do with Sky. The attitude of the technician was that he couldn't care less.  I asked to speak to someone else and, lo and behold, was cut off

All sorted.  Sky lady on the phone got me to do the whole 001 thing, reset the box AND rest the Apps.  All sorted. I noticed it got rid of the new Track Santa app. I think the installation of Track Santa screwed up the Apple.  Anyway. You all need to use 001 and reset the box. When it restarts hols down 7and9 then 1and3.  Then rest apps.

Same problems as everyone here and lots of going round in circles on th app. Just spent 15 minutes on a call to the help centre. Went through everything we have done, sent a photo. No answer for us they will ring us back...waiting

The Apple TV app not working 😞 the lady at the call centre could not give me a solution so said she would ring me back.

Apparently this erases all recorded content....

so I'd rather not do that....

Just fixed it with Apple support. It wasn't an official solution btw. So not sure if it will work for others (or will last) but we did this:

 

Highlight Apple TV app. Hold center button down for 5 seconds or so, then release and immediately click. The app now opens. It requires sign in which finally worked.

Thanks for the info...however, tried this and still get same message.

Apple TV now been down on our main Sky Q box for (at least) 2 days, but as others have said , OK on the multi room and all other apps are fine.
surely with so many people affected by this they should prioritise a fix?

I have now fixed mine by calling Sky.

It involved resetting the sky Q box, restart it at the plug, set up remote and speaker system, refresh apps (took a while), restart system at plug again. 

Took a while but worth it as now working!
