@SA61  Unless you have athe relevant call packages all calls fro a Sky Voip line are chargeable  http://www.sky.com/shop/terms-conditions/talk/code-of-practice/tariff-guide/

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

No call via Sky VOIP is free. You either pay for every call or subscribe to a call package.

Sky Talk (even 'Sky Talk Internet Calls') is effectively not 'VOIP': that implies an end-to-end data connection between software clients.  Sky may be using IP under the hood depending on how broadband is being delivered to the address where they are the ISP but calls do not present themselves that way to the handsets involved, and as indicated above will be billed in one way or another, either pence-per-minute or from a bundled allowance.

Without subscribing to 'International Extra' calling a number in Mexico using Sky Talk will be an unpleasantly expensive 81 pence per minute to a landline and £1.11 pence per minute to a mobile.

Note that if you are using your own 'real' VOIP service (not Sky Talk) over Sky broadband then a call itself may be 'free', although you'd almost certainly be paying a service subscription to the VOIP provider in addition to the Sky broadband subscription.
