Virgin refusing to porting landline number to Sky

I'm trying to port my landline number from Virgin Media to Sky.

I have a number of elderly relatives who prefer to use this number and it is the emergency contact for my father's carer.

Sky have requested a number transfer from Virgin 5 times and each time, Virgin denies receiving the request. Out of frustration, I recently contacted OFCOM as according to recent legislative changes, a telephone service proivider cannot refuse to transfer a landline number to new provider.

According to OFCOM, the responsibility for obtaining the number sits with the recieving provider (in this case, Sky), who should raise a formal complaint with OFCOM if the outgoing provider refuses to comply with the request.

I have refrained from cancelling my Virgin Media subscription because I was informed that if I did so, I would lose the number completely. So I now have two expensive, concurrent subscriptions.

How do I go about requesting that Sky raises a complaint to OFCOM on my behalf regarding Virgin Media's unwillingness to release my landline number?

If that's the case, all you can do is phone customer services and ask them to forward your call to their back office experts. From other posts here, it's not a general problem with Virgin and I suspect, that on that basis, they won't be eager to pursue this through OFCOM. In all honesty, I'd suggest considering an alternative provider.
