URGENT telephone only ringin once and not able to call out

Telephone landline is only ringing once when incomg call made. Now outgoing calls also not working. Vulnerable adult relies on telephone. How do we ask SKY to check if there is afault on the line?

I assume your landline with Sky has been working ok up to now.

Does your phone plug into the wall socket, or the back of your broadband Hub?

If it plugs into the wall socket, does the socket have two ports, one for broadband the other for your phone? Or just one port?

If it's one port, is your phone plugged in via a microfilter?

— Yes - although this is the second fault in 4 months which is very frustrating.

—Into a wall socket.

‚—I think two ports.

If it's one port, is your phone plugged in via a microfilter?

—Unfortunately I am not there now - this is my aunt and uncles residential home.

That does complicate things. If you have authority to speak to Sky on their behalf (ideally if you have their telephone password, if they've set one up) you could report it to them,  but Sky may want further troubleshooting to be carried out before they're able to book an engineer.

Or you could try the Accessibility team, given the circumstances. They might be able to help.

All that said, note that Openreach's timescales for fixing landline faults, assuming Sky identifies a line fault, is a minimum of 2 working days, up to 5.
