Transfer of number **bleep** up.

My neighbours in their eighties who already had sky a, decided to change to glass, transfer there broadband and telephone from by to Sky.

The installation took place on the 1st January and were assured their original landline would transfer two days later. They had asked for their old number. They accepted they would be without a phone line for a couple of days in spite of not having a mobile phone( it's simply not for them)

On Sunday 4th July using my mobile we phoned Sky. After 1,5 hours on the phone and two agents we were assured their line would be on by Monday 5th.

It wasn't, we phoned on the Monday morning and afternoon for a total of 4.5 hours, several agents and we got nowhere apart from the problem has been upgraded.

This in spite of the fact they are very vulnerable people and if anything happened in the night they could not dial 999 or contact anybody let alone try and get to my house 300 yards away.

On Thursday am we ring again for 1.5 hours, get nowhere, recite chapter and verse to every agent we get passed to and are promised a call back on my mobile by 1300.

It never came, another two hour phone call only achieved "BT has handed over the number" and it should be working by today.

It wasn't and after being promised another callback by 1300 today we duly phoned again.
After another1.5 hours either two agents we were told that someone had cocked up bit the matter was being sorted but it might take until Monday 13th July.

No apology forthcoming, no guarantee forthcoming. All we got was

it might be on Monday and an offer for a cheap mobile phone deal. You couldn't make it up.
We ended the call with a promise someone would ring up

on Monday either on the new landline or my mobile, whatever was working. Pitiful compensation was offered and would be further discussed on Monday.

I suspect the line will not come on Monday and it was

certsinly not promised it would.

To sum up Sky haven't got a clue how to treat vulnerable people, nobody wants to pass you through to the people who are supposed to be sorting things.

God forbid that nothing happens and if it does and they can't ring 999. The consequences would all be down to Sky and Sky alone.

My summary , we did not speak nastily in any way to any Sky agent and spent around 8 hours in total on my phone and achieved sweet nothing.

I wonder what the CEO of Sky would say if he took the time to listen to all those recorded calls.

As a fellow long term customer of Sky and in my 76th year myself, I am absolutely disgusted with your none existent customer service and especially to the vulnerable like

my neighbours are.

My thoughts on Sky cannot be written down because for obvious reasons they are obscene!

Re: Transfer of number **bleep** up.

Sky have indicated to us that their old number has been released to them by open reach/ by.

We were assured on Friday the phone line would come on today. It hasn't and the promised phone back to me has not happened.

This is an absolute disgrace, we will ring them yet again tomorrow pm.

My neighbours are distraught over this matter.

Sky should be ashamed that they have failed vunerable people.

@Daveed I'm afraid we're mainly a Community of customers here.

To clarify - I'm guessing the installation was completed on 1 July, rather than 1 January? And do they have no landline service at all and no dial tone? Or do they have service but their phone number hasn't been transferred from BT ( I,assume it's BT)?

Do they have a full fibre broadband service with a new fibre optic cable to their home? Or does their broadband use the phone line?

Re: Transfer of number **bleep** up.

I know its very important to keep the same number, was their prveious provdider Sky ? sometimes the rpoblem with transferring numbers is actually down to the old provider or even Openreach as it was in my case whcih sadly is beyond the control of Sky.
