Mr Sky router is my garage connected to the ONT. Linked to my Sky router is a 16 port network switch then which uses Cat 6 Ethernet cables to link a number of Data Points around my house.
Question: Can I plug my home phone into any of the data points in my house to utilise Sky Talk (internet calls) or does the phone have to be plugged into the phone socket on the Sky Router.

The 'phone' port on the Hub is an Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA): it does the conversion of the analogue signal from the phone hadset to IP data (and vice-versa) for transport over the broadband service. This means Sky Talk (internet calls) data never hits the ethernet ports on the Hub, as @Mark39 indicates: using those for telephony would require 'real' VOIP handset hardware and subscription to a 'real' VOIP call provider (because the configuration to port Sky Talk over IP isn't documented).

Sky installed the router in a cupboard so the docking station for my three cordless phones has also be in the cupboard, with one of the phones docked in it. I cannot relocate the router - so it is really inconvenient

@Mark39 - single phone socket - see image below

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf it's feasible it would be better to run a short extension cable from the master socket to an extension outside, the cupboard. Otherwise, getting your master socket relocated might be an option? Sky may be able to help with that.
Why installers think it's a good idea to put a phone socket in a cupboard beats me.....
