Sky Max Hub restart light sequence

Anybody able to confirm the light sequence when restarting the white Sky Max hub with full fibre connection?

I get solid amber for a little while, then a slow flashing green, briefly a red and then white. Total restart around 1m 30secs.

My landline isn't working (broadband all good) and I'm wondering if the brief red light is a clue, if others do not see a red light at any point during startup

Re: Sky Max Hub restart light sequence

Note that after Sky said it was working, I did try turning my hub off and on again. The startup light sequence was exactly the same - momentary red still showed. Wired and wireless connections were all working again almost immediately. Landline took a few minutes longer to start working again. Was panicking for a bit 😅

If you haven't already try running the line test here to see if it finds any issue with your talk service::

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.

After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.

Re: Sky Max Hub restart light sequence

All tests are good. I was specifically wondering if a momentary red light on hub during startup was normal or not

Re: Sky Max Hub restart light sequence

Not sure this helps much but I too have lost telephony & have the same startup sequence.

Yesterday my phone was reporting a line chord error. Today that's disappeared but I have no dial tone. Seems to be yet another failing of the very poor Max Hub.

Online diags ask be what colour the Voice LED is, when of course this router doesn't have one...

I'm assuming your phone is plugged into your Max Hub. Try resetting the Hub, by pressing and holding the WPS button for 30 seconds.

Re: Sky Max Hub restart light sequence

  • Got a text from Sky to say they've fixed it - and they had - could make and receive calls. Turned hub off and on to see if red light would still show during startup - it did. Landline not working again!

Re: Sky Max Hub restart light sequence

It's working again 😅

Obviously takes longer to reconnect Sky Talk than Broadband
