Phone problems following full fibre installation

We had full fibre installed on 5/3/26 by Open Reach which took about 3 hours. On completion Open Reach showed us that the router was working but did not check our landline our internet boosters which we need in a cottage with thick granite walls. So no landline and no full internet. Contacted Sky who said we would have to manage without until they could get one of their two technicians, that now cover Cornwall, to us and for that we would have to wait a further 12 days. When a technician did arrive he told us the landline had to be connected to the router but was not compatible with full fibre. So, I bought a new set of phones that turned out not to work well with the new set-up either. So that set, Panosonic, were returned. So, since then I have been bounced around between Mumbai and Bulgaria without it being resolved. As a gesture of goodwill we were offered a Tesco voucher for £10! Now, after several phone conversations we have been promised a visit from Open Reach in the next seven days! We are in our eighties with various health issues meaning we need landline as well as mobile phones........As customers of Sky for the past 27 years we feel badly served!

What problem did you have with the Panasonic phones? Was the connection to your broadband wired or cordless?

Hi, there was a problem with the base set, which was wired to the router,  picking up interference and the two handsets also having interference and low volume. We have a Cornish cottage with 3 foot granite walls but no problems previously.

@Tresowes were the Hub and the base station close together? That can certainly cause interference. The granite walls might well pose a problem for the cordless handsets. Have you tried a wired phone, rather than cordless?

Notwithstanding the interference, are you able to make and receive calls? Is there a dial tone?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to understand where the problem lies.
