Phone number cloned

How do you notify SKY if your phone number has been cloned?

Can you elaborate? It's easy enough to spoof a telephone number, but there’s nothing Sky can do to stop it.

Re: Phone number cloned

I had a phone call today saying that my phone number had been use to call them 3 times (I think with a scam?). I worry that I will be charged for these calls? I wanted to notify SKY but it seems impossible to contact them (have tried 'CHAT' and phoning, all SKY want to do is advertise.

150 is the free number to use to call Sky on but your call could be someone trying it on with you so if you have the Sky Talk Shield enabled  then add it to your blocked list

You can only be charged for calls made on your physical line. You can't conceivably be charged for calls made on a line that's not yours, even if your number appears as the Caller ID on the call recipient's handset.

It's a common ploy by scammers to hide their own number by fabricating a different one - in this case your number.

Re: Phone number cloned

Thank you for your reply. I'm sure the person informing me that he had 3 calls from my telephone number was genuine.  but thanks anyway.

Almost certainly not 'from my telephone number': much more likely that the calls were made using VOIP with your number randomly 'spoofed' to display as the Caller ID.  Fortunately the scammers using this technique typically change the randomly generated number very frequently to avoid calls being blocked.
