PORTING ISSUES Land Line
Hello, has anyone else had this problem?
I have moved to community fibre on broadband and talk package.
I also asked for the current phone number to be fowarded so that i could retain the number.
This however did not happen and my account with Sky was shut before porting.
Now community Fibre cannot port my number (they have tried several times and it gets rejected by Sky since the account is shut)
Now i am at a loss what to do , my mother is 80 years old and would not be able to work with a new number since all the network f family and friends have the old number that she has had for more than 50 years.
how do i solve this ?

Re: PORTING ISSUES Land Line
It would have been Community Fibre's responsibility to request the porting of your phone number from Sky. As I understand it they should be able to request your number for up to 1 month after your Sky service was terminated. Unfortunately it's a matter you would have to pursue through Community Fibre.

Re: PORTING ISSUES Land Line
Unfortunately both are blaming each other.
community fibre said they have tried many times to port but keeps getting rejected.
they have tried to contact Sky ,who say since the acct is closed they cannot do anything.

Re: PORTING ISSUES Land Line
As community fibre has already completed the order they will be unable to recover the number to forgot to port without ceasing all services and reordering from scratch
A company called gamma is the one who controls the services for community fibre and they do have a porting agreement with sky but if they did not request it at the time of order then the only way to get it back would be to place an order with another company so they can arrange a number recovery if it has been less than a month since the number was turned off
if more than a month then the number is gone
