No telephone

Hi. My SKY broadband was updated on Friday, 5th June - since then I have had no telephone line.  When you ring the number it rings, but does not ring within the household.  The engineer that came to the house on Friday advised that the original cable needed to be cut back to the new connection box.  Please advise, as this is not acceptable, noting that the landline was also cut a week before the engineer attended on the 5th June.  Thank you

@TracySJ what was the update? Almost,certainly your phone now needs to be plugged into your broadband Hub - there's a socket on the Hub's rear panel.
