No out going calls

This problem has been going on for about 3 days now. Checks on broadband/internet comes up with no faults found. It is just my phone which does not let me dial out. Message keeps coming back phone number not recognised or engaged tone or sometimes connects to the 999 service without reason. Hope someone can help. Ive tried the phone number given on the webpage and it is not recognised either.

Does it let you call Sky by dialling 150?

Hi Daniel,

No, just comes back number not recognised. I have bought a new phone to check out the internal system and to make sure the old phone was not broken. New phone comes up with same fault. So must be an outside problem.

Tried that four times, comes up with phone the number given for more help, but number given is not recognised.

To see if they can check the line and if a fault is detected forward it the Openreach I’ve escalated your post to Sky and the Escalation Team may get in touch with you later.

Look out for an email and also a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. Once that speech bubble appears you only have 48 hours to join the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to each chat reply from Sky within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread regularly.

If you are using Safari also make sure that Hide IP Address is not checked in order to see the chat bubble. If you have trouble finding this to check the settings, use another browser such as Chrome or Firefox.

Update for today,

The problem has still not been rectified, i seem to be getting excuses as to why an engineer cannot be booked for this problem. First it was they have tested the line and no fault was found, so the system would not allow an engineer to be called. Secondly, there is an old booking for an engineer stuck on your system which is not allowing an engineer to be booked. After the first one, it was meant to have been escalated to one of their managers. Sky seems to have gone from being good, to bad, to worse. Maybe they should stop sponsering BGT and spend the money on sorting out their service. Not a happy bunny today.

There is a problem with the system as i would not have called for help in the first place.

You need to maintain contact via the chat bubble with the Sky expert.

Hello,

Ive been away for two nights at my sons wedding, however, when i got home there was no phone line again. The problem was recitified lat week but the engineer found a fault at the exchange and a fault with one of the lines coming to the BT pole at the bottom of our garden. The engineer stated that this line is faulty and needs to be renewed also.

Cannot phone out or do anything. Can someone escalate this to a Sky engineer please.

There is a fault and an engineer has been booked. via the autmatic line checker system.
