If the voice light it lit up then your phone connection needs to be plugged into it.

Has this just started to happen or has it started to happen after you made change to your broadband package ?

I'm not sure how long this has been like it but found out today. We switched to sky last December from bt but never had to use the landline until today and plugged the landline in and we have no dialling tone. Family can call our number but we don't hear it ring and no dialling tone

Does your broadband hub have a voice light on it that is lit up ?

I had this very issue after switching from bt only two weeks ago, and it turned out to be when the open reach engineer came it was just down to bt not basically hitting a button or flicking a switch. They are absolutely awful .
