Landline still rings?

My landline has been deleted as we have moved to fibre but the the number still rings out? [obviously not in the house as we don't have a handset anymore!]. How long does this last?

The landline is still linked / bundled with your Sky Broadband. You can't cancel it unless you cancel BB too.

But I don't pay for the service anymore? SKY told me that the landline service would cease?

If you are on the default Pay As You Talk tariff you won't be being charged for Sky Talk but you still have it.

Re: Landline still rings?

So the number will ring out forever and never be reallocated? Sounds mad.

It's your number. Should you need to contact Sky just plug in a phone handset and dial Sky free on 150. Then you can unplug it again.

I suppose it could be argued that technically you've now got broadband with a bundled VoIP service on a digital bearer rather than a 'landline'.

Re: Landline still rings?

Spoke to SKY this morning and they said they would delete the number and the landline service would cease.

That doesn't sound right: all Sky Broadband has a voice service attached.  There's just no requirement to use it (or have a handset plugged in)
