Landline phone number

Just switched broadband / landline from BT to Sky.  Expected the transfer to retain the same phone number.  Appears we have a different number how do we get our previous number back?

@martin2335  Did you change technology as going from plugging the phone into the filter or master socket and now into the back of the router.

If someone has helped give them Like.

Re: Landline phone number

The bt phones were connected to the bt WiFi hub but as they were bt they were not sky hub comparable,  the new phone is plugged into the back of the sky hub.  It works - you can dial out and see the telephone number on a mobile.  It's just not the correct (our existing) number.

@martin2335

See the section 'your phone number' in this link from Skys website

Your previous number may not be retrievable.

Re: Landline phone number

So the answer was simple. Everything connected ok but no incoming calls because the number wasn't ported......2 options cancel broadband and revert back to old supplier or accept new number and let the (admittedly few) people who call on the landline know.....
