Landline not working

Hi my landline has been down for a week or so. There is no tone at all from the line. Although broadband is working off the same land line socket microfilter. I bought a new phone thinking the phone didnt work, but same thing no tone or any thing. Help

@Joe+Doe  try the simple connection test here. It's designed for broadband but as broadband and landline are served by the same copper line, it might detect a fault: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

Hi there, ive tried the broadband diagnostic, everything is fine as far as sky report. The broadband is fine, i just have no landline working. I have tried the phone line without the microfilter and still no dialling tone.

@Joe+Doe just to check - are you new to Sky, or recently upgraded your Sky broadband? Or is this the same Sky landline you've been using for a while?

 

Assuming this is a new fault on an existing Sky landline, we can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here so that you can report it via a private online chat, if you wish?

Hi yes its a new fault on a exosting sky line, which we have had for some time. That would be great if you are able to report it. I am contacting for my elderly parents as they are struggling to use a mobile phone to get through to somebody. Thank you

@Joe+Doe are you the accountholder? If not, that might present a problem with you reporting it. Has the accountholder set up a telephone password with Sky that they can pass on to you?

Hi there, just wanted to say thank you for your help. Sky recongnised a fault outside my home. Engineer has been booked. Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.

@Joe+Doe I'd love to be able to take credit, but I've been away from the website for a few minutes so haven't actually raised it yet with Sky!

 

Kudos to Sky for proactively identifying the fault and booking an engineer. I hope it's fixed quickly.
