I cannot create an announcement on my BT DECOR 2600 answerphone

I cannot create an announcement on my BT DECOR 2600 answerphone. I dialed 1571 but it won't let me create an answerphone announcement message, it says I have to contact sky to enable that.

1571 is Sky's independent Voicemail service. It's not linked to your BT answerphone. To enable Voicemail, you do have to call Sky. To be able to set up your own an ouncement on Sky's 1571 service, you need the enhanced Voicemail Plus service.

I follow the instructions from the BT handbook but for some reason, probably something I'm not doing, my announce message does not play when phone rings even though I have recorded it, heard it and saved it.
